Basic Information about FOBANA 

Name: Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA for short) 

Objective: To act as the central contact point for the Bangladeshi Associations/Organizations in North America

General Body: Only a non-political and non-religious organization can be a member. Membership is not offered to individuals. The General body meets once a year. At least 50% of the member organizations must be present to make quorum. 

Executive Body: General body elects the executive body. Terms of all members do not expire simultaneously. 

Voting Right: Any member in good standing can vote (i.e. only organizations can vote not an individual). 

Annual Convention: FOBANA holds an annual convention hosted by a member organization somewhere in the North America. The host organization is given autonomy to work out the details with general guidance from the FOBANA executive committee.
